Our Mission

At PGH Social Club, we set out to create a judgment-free environment where real friendships can grow through fun, shared experiences in Pittsburgh. Whether you’re looking for a new hobby, a new bar, or simply new friends, PGH Social Club is your one-stop shop for connection and community.

Our mission is to ignite Pittsburgh’s community by fostering authentic relationships and strengthening young people’s ties to the city and to each other. Our curated experiences are meant to bring people together in meaningful and lasting ways.

We’re not just planning events, we're building a community. So come join us, discover something new, and find your people in Pittsburgh!

It all started with an idea

The idea of connecting people in Pittsburgh first took shape back in January 2021. It started with Avi, Joe, and Oliver, who launched Potluck, a project built around “connecting strangers over food.” From there, Joe and Avi pivoted to Greetings, which expanded the vision to connecting anyone in Pittsburgh, laying early groundwork for what PGH Social Club would eventually become.

Through Joe, Avi met Matthew, and together they reimagined the concept into something new: a social club designed specifically for 20-somethings. With a focus on community, friendship, and fun, PGH Social Club officially launched in August 2024.

Coming out of COVID, young adults faced a loneliness epidemic—the U.S. Surgeon General even warned that loneliness could have the same health impact as smoking up to 15 cigarettes a day. Post-grad life in Pittsburgh left many people our age craving connection, friendship, and meaningful experiences. PGH Social Club was created to meet that need.

We started by hosting curated events, casual bar nights, friend-making meetups, and opportunities to explore the city together. Now, we’re evolving. Our mission is expanding beyond helping people make friends to enhancing the lives of 20-somethings who already have friends, giving them ready-made ways to connect with the city and with each other.

PGH Social Club isn’t just an events company, it’s a movement to make Pittsburgh the best place for young people to live, thrive, and belong.

We also aim to create ready-made experiences designed for groups of friends who want to strengthen their bonds and make the most of their time together. Many members form connections, start group chats, and naturally branch off into their own circles. 

That’s the dream! 

By catering to friend groups and giving them exciting, curated experiences, we not only stay connected with our community but also help them keep the fun going.

  • There is no formal application process. If there is an event that looks fun, please join us!

  • Of course! Don't be afraid to join, doesn't matter if you come solo or with friends, all our welcome!

  • We will have a mix of both free and paid events, all of the event information can be found on our calendar so keep an eye out!

  • Not at all! Everyone is welcome, but please note that our events are primarily designed for this age group.
